About me: Attempting to row the Atlantic will be one of the most challenging things I'll do. This project is the realization of an ambition first seeded, aged 15, whilst reading the fascinating and inspirational account of John Ridgeway & Chay Blyth’s successful Atlantic row in a 20ft dory in 1966. I've sailed across the Atlantic - giving me valuable experience of what it will be like out there in the middle of the ocean – and completed several marathons and triathlons. I hope that the money we raise for cancer research will help find ways to deal with a disease that has touched so many people that we know. I also hope that doing the trip will inspire ordinary people like me to do something a little extraordinary in their lives.

About me: The appeal of the Atlantic rowing race is simply its adventurous nature, coupled with the physical and mental challenge of the race itself. I love hearing about new challenges of human endeavour and wish to experience what it is to push myself in extreme conditions. I have completed the long distance endurance event Tour du Mont Blanc, climbed around and summated Mont Blanc and kayaked through the Ardeche in South France. I studied Marine Sports Science at the University of Plymouth and before joining the Royal Marines I was selected for the GB Rowing talent pool for the 2012 Olympics.
