The boat PDF Print E-mail
The boat will be our home for the 3,000 mile journey across the Atlantic.  Providing us with shelter when the conditions are too stormy for us to row; and the storage space for the water maker and our food rations so we don't go hungry or thirsty.  Take a look at our slideshow to learn more about the design of the boat and how she was built.

Our new home

Our new home

The boat is a proven design of fiberglass construction making it both lightweight and strong.  Intended to be self righting in the event that it did capsize, the boats are built for the task; the ocean rowing integrity of these boats has been proven time and time again.

The engine room

The boat has two rowing positions located in the central cockpit area.  We will layer the seats with padding to provide greater comfort and help protect our backsides.  Steering is controlled using a footplate, used when we're rowing, to change the direction of the rudder.

The roof over our head

The small cabin provides shelter for us to sleep and the storage space for our electrical & navigation equipment.  At only six and a half feet long by less than four feet wide conditions in the cabin will be very cramped if we both need to take refuge from stormy seas.
